Claire Woodcock's 11th Birthday. Polling Day. Saw Tony 4 times. Lovely day - cold. Shown in Athletics. Watched sad Dolphin film. 'Bright Eyes' No.1.

Maggie won Election. Saw Tony 3 times - including after Assembly. I saw him leaning against a pillar outside the hall. COR!! Should've seen his hair (fringe) it was stuck up!

Started period after 49 days! Watched 'Tiswas' & bought eyeliner pencil which turned out to be an eyebrow pencil. Messed with eyeshadow all day. Cold outside.

Mum let me wear her ear-rings. Didn't do much - had bath, watched film. No film at night but there was repeat of 'Fawlty Towers' on BBC1 it was magic!!!

Mayday. OFF SCHOOL. Holiday. Stayed in for most of day & ironed for Eddie. Rather be at school looking at TONY!! Period a pest. Nowt much on telly. Couple of films.

Finish 1/2 hour early cos of teachers' strike. Saw Tony 5 times, also felt shown cos I had to walk very close to him. COR! Rained all day. I LUV T.H.

Got sandals up Town. Watched FA Cup Final Arsenal v Man Utd (boo)! Last 10mins were ace - 3mins really 'cos Man Utd scored 2 & Arsenal scored one more to make it 3-2.

Up early & sunbathed. Played football & had a bath. Beautiful day - hope to get brown tomorrow! Watched film starring Peter Sellers.

Watched 1/2 of 'Tiswas.' Played out 'cos it was hot & washed hair for Jill's disco 'cos it was her birthday. Very loud & came home at 10.30pm.

Saw Tony twice. Had scrap with Sonya on field. Really daft, she won. Going to have another after holiday (kick farts out of her)! Didn't play out. Rain.

Danny's 12th birthday. Saw Tony 7 times. Sonya wouldn't accept a scrap from Babs (too scared). Sharon couldn't play out so I went to bed early.

Ascension Day. Saw Tony only twice but it was worth it cos he was outside Gym playing with ball (small) & I was watching for it to be open COR! He bounced it!!

Holiday starts (earlier). Sharon took a while coming out. Took Jamie out for a walk. Lovely day but rained at tea-time. Miss Tony already & I still think of him.

Sun actually came out! 17th sunny day. Got bit brown & listened to radio. Cleaned bike. Warm night & watched 2nd part Best Seller 'Centennial.' ACE!

Awful day (rained). Stayed in but went to shop for Mum. Played Table Tennis. Dan won. Watched European Cup Final Nottingham Forest v Malmo. Forest won 1-0 (rubbish).

Up late. Cool day but didn't rain at least! Sewed. Watched 'Top of the Pops' & BLONDIE still No.1. There was also first 'Wildlife on One'Series which was about a squirrel which had been abandoned.

April Fool's Day. Dog's gone, probably belongs to someone - cute! Played footy & washed hair at night. Watched 'My Son, My Son' episode 3.

Saw Tony 5 times. He goes on No.6 bus. Sharon was absent. Funny day. Watched 'Kenny Everett Video Show' & sewed a bit. Didn't feel well. Bed early at 8.10pm (tired)!

Sharon Earl's Birthday. Absent from school 'cos of cold. Very hot. Not going tomorrow. Gave Sharon presents. Liked them. Bed early but still couldn't sleep.

Palm Sunday. Up quite late. Think I've started period but lost less than usual. Watched film (not all of it) about Nuns helping kids in war by hiding them in special room in Chapel. Germans weren't clever enough!

Hope weather brightens. Hasn't. Had few games Monopoly. School Holiday starts today but no-one played out so I might've been better off at school looking at Tony. COR!

Rained all day & Dad's off with sciatica in leg. Probably going back working either tomorrow or Thursday before our Boating Holiday. Played Monopoly till 8pm. In bed I knitted.

Got up at 8.15am. Rained but came brighter in afternoon - very hot hazey day. Good news for Boating Trip!! So hot it thundered at 7pm. Mum got road maps to Norfolk. Baked and watched the 'Pop Awards.'

1st Day of Passover. Hot stuffy day. Rained on & off. Joe came down & had argument with Mum. Dad sorted it out. Art Garfunkel No.1 with 'Bright Eyes' from Watership Down. Cute!

Good Friday. Looking forward to Boating Holiday tomorrow. Very warm today! Washed my hair & went to bed early for we have to get up early.

BOATING HOLIDAY STARTS. Very tired in morning. Took 8 hours to get there but worth it. Lucy Bee (the boat) is lovely. Not botherint with a television.

Easter Day. Moored near shops which weren't open! Set off to yet another place - this time near a pub! Warm & we drank till 9.30pm.

Easter Monday. Went to shop. Travelled to cool spot. Dad & Joe took nearly 2 hours getting to pub. Got cold at night. Bed early.

Joe fished - nearly got big fish/eel but didn't manage to see it. Cold but still moored outside pub! Had few drinks. Came back.

Went in pub & could stroke cat - cute! Warmer! Travelled but not near Norwich yet. Tomorrow we are going there. Joe, Dad in pub.

Dad travelled a lot 'cos he couldn't find a pub to moor at! Finally did, although me, Danny were also allowed in. Moored up near Norwich.

Julie Hughes' Birthday. Went to Norwich & did some shopping there - it's massive! Decided to moor near pub & we stayed in boat with crisps/drinks.

Birthday of Queen. Came back from hols. Had to leave boat at Brundall. Didn't take long to get home. Really tired. Bed late. Bed was much better.

Low Sunday. Up late. Maybe going on holiday next year. Watched telly including 'The Defection of Simas Kidurka' (film) & true story. Very good.

St George's Day. BACK TO SCHOOL. Starts 9.30am. Saw Tony behind us in Assembly. Saw him twice more. Watched 'Kenny Everett Video Show.' Bed early.

Saw FIT Tony 4 times but he can't play football because tennis nets are in the way. Still saw him though! 'Dallas' wasn't on so I had another early night.

Saw Tony 4 times. COR! Warm day & played out at night but it rained! Came in to watch 'Top of the Pops.' Art Garfunkel No.1 4th week with 'Bright Eyes.' 'Blankety Blank' on too.

Beautiful day & saw Tony 3 times. Total = 19. Fitness on body! Split up from 'Parsnips' (Wendy Parsons). Played out (not for long) & it rained at night again but not much.

Watched 'Tiswas.' Sunny day but colder. Played cricket instead of football. Also played it at night. Nothing much happened & went to bed early for a Saturday.

Horrible day & it rained. Couldn't play out. Very boring except for film 'Champions - A Love Story' about boy/girl skaters. Became (nearly) champs & boy dies in plane crash (girl won in end).

St David's Day. Bike mended so I went to shop. Cold. Ironed for Mum. Rained at night. Bee Gees No.1 with 'Tragedy.' ACE! Elvis Costello No.3 with Oliver's Army.

Up early. Milder day but still dull. Made Chocolate Cake. Nothing to do so I had bath & dried hair. Sure I saw one of Tony's mates earlier today. SHOWN! Layton - outside Kendon's.

Saw Todd Carty & girl who plays Trisha Yates on Grange Hill. Went up Town to get Ann's Horror Book which is first in series. Hope to get her another Horror Book next week.

Quadragesima Sunday. Looking forward to see Tony. Lovely day considering it was last day of hols. Played Releasio & football all day. Had a great time.

Back to School. Saw Tony 4 times. Sharon likes Tony's cute mate. Will try & find out his name. Watched few comedy programmes & 'Fawlty Towers.' Fun!

Saw Tony twice. 2nd time was when me, Ann, Wendy went to Stanley at dinner & he & his mates dodged in front of us, coming other way. Girl in his class seems to be following us. Sharon isn't going into 4th Year.

St Patrick's Day. Just about finished period - I think! Didn't go to Town but got skirt material for school. Watched film & 'Dukes of Hazzard' with Boss Luke.

Summer Begins. Up late 'cos clocks put forward. Didn't play out - too cold. Watched Nottingham Forest v Southampton (League Cup). Forest won 3-2. Washed hair in bath.

Saw Tony 3 times. & he was near us in Assembly - SHOWN! Watched 'Kenny Everett' 'Sharp Intake of Breath' & repeat showing 'Fawlty Towers' 'cos strike last week.

Dad's 42nd Birthday. Saw Tony 4 times (COR)! Cute one walked past Shaz & she didn't know! Richard Beckinsale (Godba) died 2 nights ago, heart attack - they think. Died in sleep.

Saw tony 4 times. There was protest by schoolkids on Scabies which a couple of people caught. Caused by infected dirt - scabs. T.H. 7 N.Yates there, I didn't, will tomorrow. Watched 'Top of the Pops', same No.1. GOOD.

Saw Tony 3 times. In morning saw Nigel outside standing on one leg looking at his mate - CUTE! Lovely day & played football, warm. Hope to get up early in morning (might go to Town again).

Up late. Went to Town for Shaz's pressy. Dog came here. Don't know owner - may keep it if there isn't one. Called 'Bob' (we did)! Rubstic won Grand National 25/1. Also boring Euro Song Contest.

Spanish Exam & Cookery. Each hour long. I think he smokes (up above next to an asterisk I've put "no he doesn't, he takes his ball to courts). Did games indoors with bare feet. BLONDIE NO.1. Revised in bed.

Watched 'Swap Shop.' Nana back in hospital. Got batteries for radio. England v Scotland 7-7 in Rugby Union. Watched 'The Blockheads' and wrote notes on History.

Got up late. Went to shop after dinner & got ice cream. Watched film 'The Boy in the Plastic Bubble' with John Travolta playing leading role. Revised.

Accession of Queen Elizabeth II. End of exams. French (32%), Biology (25%) results were bad. Disappointed about these results but more to come. Ironed. Saw Tony 5 times.

Got Maths & Chemistry exam marks. In Chemistry got 17% (diabolical). In Maths I've improved. Saw Tony 4 times. England are beating Ireland 4-0 (middle match).

Geography mark 51.5%. English mark 55%. Better than previously. Saw Tony 3 times. BLONDIE still No.1 with 'Heart of Glass.' Some good songs about at the moment.

Snowed all day. A bit boring. Mum wouldn't let me go out. Watched film 'Kelly's Heroes' with Clint Eastwood & Tele Savalas. Bed 10pm.
2nd January 1979
Rained instead of snowed. Not as cold as yesterday. Went to shop for 2 cans (drinks). Watched boring film in afternoon. Listened to my radio in bed (Radio 1).
3rd January 1979
Snowed again & it was colder than yesterday. Had a bit of fresh air when 'Pebble Mill' was on. Went to bed early to listen to radio again.
4th January 1979
Stopped snowing & it wasn't as cold. Still icy though. On 'Top of the Pops' there was Elton John & Ian Dury & The Blockheads. Village People No.1 with "YMCA". Listened to radio.

Weatherman said it'd be "warmer" but it's not. Didn't go out, too cold. Watched 'The Liver Birds' & 'Citizen Smith' (Cor)! Listened to my radio at 9.45pm.

Must go to Town with my pound. Epiphany. Got up & watched 'Swap Shop.' Couldn't go to Town 'cos of fuel shortage on buses. I didn't get my £1 back. Repeat of 'Starsky & Hutch.'

Must learn Spanish & French Vocabulary. Watched tennis final McEnroe & Fleming v Nastase & Stewart (1st two won). Don't want to go to school. Went to bed to forget it.

Go back to school. Start at 9.30am. Luckily there will be a shortage of fuel so can't go on Wednesday. Was sick at school (nice way to start the term). Had an early night.

No school today, no fuel. Could get up late at 10.15am. Had beans on toast & I went to the shop. Had to do some ? (glad really 'cos telly crap)! Bed early.

No school again. Got up at 10am & after dinner went to Sharon's & did jigsaw. Uncle Joe & Grandad came to tea & we all went to see Nana in hospital (broke hip). "YMCA" still no.1.

No school YET AGAIN. Got up much earlier. Did same jigsaw at Sharon's again. Joe, Grandad came again. Nothing much on the box. Bed later.

Nana's Birthday. Got her a card. Went to Town on my own. Bought my pen I am writing with & No.7 Lip Gloss, thin & stays on longer than Max Factor.

Stayed in 'cos it was too cold. Bit boring really. Did homework & I'm not looking forward to tomorrow (school) or Tuesday (Optician). Bed early to revise.

Exams on 29.1.79. Not a bad day. At least I wasn't sick. Didn't have much homework but I revised Spanish. Clothes off David. Bed early to revise Spanish.

Opticians 2.15pm. Hardly have to wear specs. Saw Higgy 3 times (had his hair cut). COR! I think he likes a girl in his class but he only speaks to her. Shouldn't get jealous should I?

Not well so I had to stay in & revise all day as it snowed outside. Not looking forward to tomorrow's exams. YUCH!

Start Exams. Had English & Physics exams. Didn't like them. Revised in bed. Maths & French for tomorrow's exams, 2 hours. YUCH!
30th January 1979
FRENCH & MATHS EXAMS. Didn't like them. Didn't see Tony today. Wasn't much on the television but I revised a lot anyway. Also in bed.
31st January 1979
HAD CHEMISTY & GEOGRAPHY EXAMS. Enjoyed them. Saw Tony twice. Watched 'Lucky Numbers.' Nothing much on so I went to bed after 'Morecambe & Wise' to revise.

GOT BOOK FROM TOWN CALLED "THE PLAGUE DOGS." DIDN'T DO MUCH RES TOF DAY.
2nd September 1978
GOT PUMPS. PLAYED ON DAN'S BIKE (MINE'S BROKEN). WARM DAY. WATCHED STARSKY & HUTCH (GOOD).
3rd September 1978
STOPPED WRITING IN DIARY (AREN'T I A SILLY BILLY AT TIMES)?
4th September 1978
GAVE DIARY UP 'COS IT MAKES ME TIRED WRITING IN IT! MAKE A GOOD EFFORT NEXT YEAR, THOUGH (I HOPE).

Christmas Eve. Ace things on telly & excited about tomorrow. Not fair, horrible Xmas present is that I've STARTED PERIODS! YUCH!!
25th December 1978
CHRISTMAS DAY. Got portable telly (b & w). Straights, underskirt, bubble bath, nail varnish & set, Powder Puff, Book on Cats & presents from my mates.
NB: ANOTHER BREAK UNTIL..
