Got up at 9.10am. Went round to Sharon's, it rained so after dinner I went round to read until it stopped. Sun came out & dried rain a bit. Went to Den, stayed until 8.05pm. At home read Miriam's magazines that were given to us as nothing on telly. Bed 10pm.
2nd August 1978
Got up at 8am to go to Grandad's. Went in Joe's car whilst he and Nan went for money back (haven't got it). All came back & Grandad bought double ice creams! Sunny most of day (38th). Rained a lot at night. Played cricket & watched Wednesday At Night. Bed 9pm.
3rd August 1978
Got up at 10am. Didn't play out 'cos it rained. After dinner Joe & Dave came down in Joe's car & we went to Thornton. Still rained. Watched Top of the Pops with Dave Lee Travis. John Travolta still No.1 for 8th week. Carry on Doctor fim on. Bed 9pm.

Got up at 9.45am. Decided to watch television but it didn't rain. In afternoon Sharon came & the sun came out & we had a look at the new "T" cars. Came in to wash my hair. Watched The Incredible Hulk & he changed twice plus Horizon. Bed 10pm.

Got up at 9am. Watched television in the morning because Sharon & Steve are at their Aunty Barbara's for the weekend. Played out on my bike. Dull but didn't rain (did when I went to bed). Watched Happy Days with 'The Fonz', The Bionic Woman, 3-2-1 & Kojak (good). Bed 10.30pm.

Got up at 9am. Read bood because it rained. Cleaned up in afternoon but I made Tarts. Played out a bit but came in to listen to Top 20 on radio. Watched film Midnight Hour starring Rex Harrison & Doris Day. It wasn't a repeat of a similar film with the same 2 people in it during February. Bed 1020pm.

Got up at 9.05am. Went round to Sharon's at 10am. She got up late & after dinner we went to Library. Got ice cream from Rocco (lime & lemon). Rained but it wasn't hard. Watched Kenny Everett Video Show. Nothing exciting on after that. Very boring day & I read in bed at 9.10pm.

Got up at 9.15am. Rained in morning so I couldn't call for Sharon. In afternoon rain stopped so I went round to watch Commonwealth Games. Watched repeat of this at night & New Series of What's On Next? and the BBC News. Bed 9.20pm.

Got up at 10am. Went round to Sharon's & she got up late. In afternoon Shaz & Steve went to Pictures with Phil & Paul & I am going next week. At night watched Commonwealth Games, also London Night Out with Tom O'Connor. Bed 9.20pm.

Got up at 9.05am. Wnet to shops with Mum. 37th sunny day. Didn't got to baths. Caught grasshoppers at Den. Watched the Incredible Hulk. It was very boring because he only changed once. Also Horizon about people getting multiple sclerosis (YES I DID SPELL IT RIGHT)! Bed 10pm.

Got up at 9.20am. Didn't go out in morning 'cos it rained. Cleaned up in afternoon but wasn't hot enough to go to baths. Watched Happy Days, went out. Came in again to watch Bionic Woman & 3-2-1 with Ted Rodgers. Also bit of Commonwealth Games. Bed 10.30pm.

Got up at 9.45am. Bright morning & I & Sharon went to baths after dinner. When we came out it rained so couldn't play out when we got back. Listened to radio & went to Miriam's 'cos Mum & Dad went out. Didn't play games (tired). Bed 10.15pm.

Got up at 9am. Rained all morning & most of afternoon. Made scones so wouldn't be bored. Played out after tea with Sharon. Came in to watch Kenny Everett's Video Show. Bath & washed hair. Nothing else on telly after that. Bed 8.30pm.

Rest of us played Releasio which was ACE 'cos Mason was playing! Watched What's On Next? Weather report very gloomy for tomorrow. Bed 9.25pm.

Got up at 9am. Watched repeat of Grange Hill. After dinner it stopped raining so we could play out. At night we all played Releasio but I came in cos it rained. Watched Elvis in Concert it was for his death this time last year. Also watched Wednesday At Eight with Tom O'Connor. Bed 9.25pm.

Got up at 8.55am. Beautiful morning & quite nice in afternoon (warm). Sharon had to go out with Ruth & Claire somewhere but came back to play Releasio (all except Mason). Watched Top of The Pops with Noel Edmunds. John Travolta wasn't No.1! Watched film & news. Tomorrow it will be DRY! Bed 9.30pm.

1st July 1978
Got up at 9.30am. Rained but I still went to Library. Watched tennis. Sue Barker only just beat Pam Shriver. Played out when it stopped raining. Watched rubbish film and Kojak which was good. Bed 10.10pm.
2nd July 1978
Got up at 10.10am. Rained again. Cousins Jill & Mark came down. Jill put face on Flump. Played out when it stopped raining. Watched film 'Birdman from Alcatraz' with Burt Lancaster (sad ending). Bed 9.20pm.
3rd July 1978
Cold day but sun came out to make it a bit warmer (at night). Just had Maths homework. Played on bikes & then played football. Not much tennis because of rain at Wimbledon. Watched Panorama. Bed 8.45pm.
4th July 1978
Dull day (rained a bit). Had Geography & English homework. Played at football. Came in to watch Wimbledon. Rained there as well. Nothing on television so I had an early night 8.45pm.

Dull but it didn't rain. Had no homework because I did it in class. Played out with Sharon, Elliot & Phil, we went over to railway (me & Sharon pretended to be Joan Collins). We had a good time!!!!!!!!!! Bed 9pm.

Did Cookery & made Shortbread but only got 7. Played naughty game again but without Elliot. Watched John Travolta & Olivia Newton John No.1 on Top of the Pops for 4 weeks. Also last one of Rosie & also Citizen Smith (not last one). COR! Bed 9.30pm.

27th sunny day. Came 26th in Exams (same as last time). Had no homework again. Played out with Sharon. Watched the Incredible Hulk. Ken helped land a plane which had no air pressure. Bed at 10.20pm.

Got up at 11am. Didn't play out in the morning. Made perfume with Sharon (quite smelly). Philip, Paul & Steve came back from Air Show. Watched Golden Gala woth 100 women in it. Bed at 8.50pm.

30th sunny day. Hazey but it was very warm. Had no homework again. Played on bikes (went after Phil & Steve). Went in to watch The Two Ronnies (repeat but I enjoyed it)!! Bed 9pm.

31st sunny day. Very warm & watched our School Sports. Kevin Plowman came 1st in 1 race, 1st in Relay & 4th against 4th Year Boys in 1,500 metres. Watched new series of Rockford Files after I played out. Also watched last one of Charlie's Angels. Bed 9pm.

32nd sunny day. Gone warmer again & I nearly took blouse off! Walked home (ran really) went a different way home & it was quicker down Garstang Road) 'cos I spent bus fares (hungry) & lost one of my ear-rings. Watched 'Wednesday at Eight.' Bed 9pm.

Up later. 33rd sunny day. Cleaned up in Cookery. Played out but Ruth came & spoilt it. She went home though. Watched Top of The Pops John Travolta No.1 for 6th week. Also watched Wildlife on One (repeat) & Citizen Smith (repeat). Bed 9.25pm.

34th sunny day. In September I will be going into class 2S (lower). Rehearsed plays at school (nervous)! Played out & Ruth came but we played together. Watched The Incredible Hulk. He was working in a Zoo. Also Horizon. Bed 10.15pm.

Got up at 7.50pm. Went out early but it was dull all day (didn't rain). Messed about with Sharon's Perfume Set. Didn't play many games, just French Cricket (only 3 played though). Watched Kojak which was about a model murdering people. Bed 10pm.

Got up at 9.45am. Didn't play out in morning because nobody else was. Sharon & Steven went out to Ruth's house so I had to play on my own. Played French Cricket. Didn't talk to Sharon. Watched Blackpool Bonanza with Paul Daniels (new series). Bed 9pm.

Didn't talk to Sharon as we were walking to School (broken friends). Had Games, nearly had it at Stanley Park but nobody went off. Played out on my own. Sharon went off. Wrote Project & watched The Two Ronnies (repeat). Bed 9pm.

Didn't walk with Sharon to school. Not sunny, but warm day. Had Physics homework. Played out on my own but Mum told me & Sharon to make friends. Watched Rockford Files (continued next Tuesday). Bed 9pm.

BREAK UP FOR SUMMER HOLIDAYS. Didn't do much at School, no homework either. Very sunny night & hardly any wind. Went on cemetery wall with Sharon, Steve & Phil. Watched the Incredible Hulk. He stopped 2 men from catching woman in Trawler. Bed 10.2opm.

Got up at 10am. Messed around in the morning outside. Mum got Training Shoes (same as Danny's). Ruth, Claire, me, Sharon & Steven went to Kingscote Park & came back cos it rained. Watched Kojak (on earlier). Bed 9.30pm.

Got up at 8am. 16th sunny day. Listened to Abba on radio. Played with Sharon. Derby Baths was closed (I & Sharon thought so). Thundered again. Watched World Cup West Germany v Poland 0-0. Bed 9.10pm.

Got up at 8.30am. 17th sunny day. Played out with Sharon. Not allowed to play cricket. Went to Poulton Baths. Danny watched Italy v France, Italy won. Had bath & watched Starsky & Hutch. Hutch was pretending he had lost his memory after car crash but Starsky found out that he hadn't. Bed 10pm.

Got up at 8am. Played with Sharon at football & went to the shops for Mum twice. Paul got some SLIME. Watched World Cup Scotland v Peru, Scotland lost 3-1 (missed penalty). Bed 11pm.

Got up at 10am. Mum, Dad & Dan went to the Oval. Dan won Trophy. I played with Sharon at "Wally." Ruth joined in afterwards. Miriam gave me skirt she had made. Watched Scotland v Holland. Scotland won 2-1 just after half-time. Bed 10pm.

Times at school still changed (don't like it). Just revision for homework. Played with Sharon at "Wally" again. Steven kept arguing so we've fallen out with him. Watched The 2 Ronnies (repeat). Bed 9pm to revise.

EXAMS START TODAY. Physics Exam was hard but I answered all the questions. Revised French in afternoon (& at night). Measured ourselves (me & Sharon) at her house. Not sunny. Rained but it was very warm. Later sun came out. Bed 9pm.

Got up at 9.45pm. Played out because it stopped raining. Didn't do much. Watched Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory (repeat). Also watched World Cup Final Holland v Argentina. Argentina won 3-1. Bed at 9.20pm to revise.

Did Biology & Maths. Both weren't easy but I tried hard. After the Exams I played out to refresh my memory. Sun came out to cheer me up. Watched The Two Ronnies (repeat). Bed 9pm (revised).

Did History Exam. Not very long but I liked it. Supposed to do Games but it rained so we couldn't. Instead of playing out I revised English & watched tennis at Wimbledon (on telly). Sue Barker won. Bed at 8.45pm. Got French result 46%. Worse but it was a harder Exam.

MAYDAY. OFF SCHOOL. Got up at 9.20am. Watched rubbish film about Tin-Tin. Played out on my own. Watched another film 'A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum' (comedy). Also watched Whodunnit & Little & Large. Bed at 8.30pm (read).

Had boring lessons at school. Didn't have English, D.T. 'cos Mrs Smith was away. Did homework at school. Watched The Bionic Woman. Also Rising Damp. Rigsby got hynotised. Also new Armchair Thriller called 'The Limbo Connection.' Bed 9pm.

Claire Woodcock's Birthday (Ruth's younger sister). Got her a box of chocolates. Had Physics test. Had Biology homework. Saw Mason (neighbour down the road) and he smiled! Went to bed at 9.30pm. Dad argued with Mum. Did Biology in bed.

Did Cookery lesson. Made Potato Cheese (mark was 8 1/2). After homework played out with Sharon & everybody else at football. Top of the Pops Bee Gees No.1. Also Wildlife on One (Bobcat). Got washed & bed at 8.45pm. Didn't want to watch the Armchair Thriller.

Did tennis at school (sunny but cold). Had English & History homework. Played football. The score was 8-8 but me, Sharon & Steven had very near misses, Elliott (Mason's brother) & Tony & Philip all have had good headers. Bed 9.50pm.

Got up at 8.30am. Watched special edition of Swap Shop. Went for tennis racket. Arsenal v Ipswich FA Cup Final, Ipswich won 2-1. Played footy all afternoon. Went in at 8.30pm. Watched Kojak. Bed 10.10pm.

Got up at 11.15am. Had dinner, then played out in the afternoon. Ruth came down but didn't want to play with her. Came in to bake Coconut Tartlets. After football had bath & watched film 'Ben Hur' (in 2 parts). Couldn't watch 2nd part. Roman film. Bed 10.15pm.

Did tennis at Stanley Park (wet on ground). Had Geography, French & Maths homework. Played out with Sharon. No-one played a game of football with us. Watched Whodunnit with John Pertwee & Angels. Not as good as last week's episode. Bed 9pm.

Had English homework. Went to see 'Abba Movie' at ABC Theatre. It showed most of songs including 2 new ones 'The Eagle' & 'Sound of Music.' An interviewer tried to interview them. Ended up in Melbourne. Watched part of Rising Damp (last one) & Armchair Thriller 'The Limbo Connection.' Bed 9pm.

Didn't do tennis at Stanley Park. Instead played 'Rounders' on field. At dinner-time poured with rain. After my homework the sun came out so I could play at tennis. Supposed to be sunny for 30 days. Nothing on telly so bed early at 8.15pm.

It was sunny for a change today. Got an Ice Cup 'cos it was so hot. Had English & Physics homework. Played with Sharon at tennis. Came in to watch Bionic Woman with the Bionic Dog (Max). He was afraid of fire because when he was a puppy he was trapped in a cage when there was a fire. Bed 9pm.

Didn't do Biology homework. I and Sharon followed D Haywood & T Lloyd all over Mansfield Road (they didn't see us). We crossed their names out on lamp-post & put J.I (me) = M.M & S.H (Sharon) = M.M. They might see the names we put tomorrow. Bed 8.45pm.

Got up at 8.20am. Didn't play in morning because I had my hair permed (took 3 hours). Ruth came again but we played with her. My ball's snapped but we've mended Steve's (can keep it). Bed 10.10pm.

Didn't do Biology homework. I and Sharon followed D Haywood & T Lloyd all over Mansfield Road (they didn't see us). We crossed their names out on lamp-post & put J.I (me) = M.M & S.H (Sharon) = M.M. They might see the names we put tomorrow. Bed 8.45pm.

Got up at 9.40am. Went out to play Ball-tig & football with Uncle Phil on my side against the rest of the boys. Also played in alleys but Mas & El went in. Watched Hospital film. Bed 9.30pm.

Sharon Earl's birthday (friend round the corner). Got up at 9.20am. Played with Sharon at football and went after Danny in alleys (caught him). Watched Devenish & World in Action. Bed 9.30pm.

Had homework from Physics and English (new reading book about Wizards). Watched 'Sherlock Holmes.' Also repeat of 'Porridge.' Bed at 9.30pm.

Began Exam today. Got up at 7.30am. Did Geography & English Exam at school. Had dinner at 12.15pm (earlier). Went to bed at 9.00pm.

Did Maths Exam today. Watched 'Rising Damp' and a bit of 'Q7.' Went to bed at 9.10pm. Did revising for Biology (boring)!
18th January 1978
Did Biology Exam today for 1 hour. Revised French in the afternoon. Watched film for an hour. Went to bed at 9.15pm.

Did Physics Exam for 1 hour today. Snowed all day. Slipped but didn't fall. Watched 'Top of the Pops' and 'The Good Life.' Bed at 9.15pm.

Did Religious Education Exam. Watched people do cross country while I was standing at the side (freezing)! Bed at 9.20pm.
21st January 1978
Got up at 9.45am. Watched 'Swap Shop.' Saw a ventriliquist (young) and a bird naturalist. Also 'Starsky & Hutch.' Bed at 10.15pm.
22nd January 1978
Uncle Joe's 29th Birthday. Got up at 10.45am. Watched football and 'Muppet Show' with Rudolf Neureif. Bed at 9.00pm. Revised History & French.
23rd January 1978
Did History & French exam. Exam was longer (1/4 of an hour). Watched 'Coronation Street' & 'Cabaret Show.' Went to bed at 9.00pm.
24th January 1978
Exams end today. Returned to normal lessons and received the Exam Results (4 of them). Watched 'Streets of San Fransisco' and 'Q7' at 9pm. Bed at 9.30pm.
25th January 1978
Received result for the Biology Exam (67%) which is better than previous exams (except History, French & English). Watched film with Doris Day. Bed at 9.20pm.
26th January 1978
Received result for English Exam (50%) which is the same as Physics. Went swimming at St. George's. Going again next Tuesday. Watched 'Top of the Pops.' No.1 "Mul of Kintyre." Also watched 'The Good Life.' Bed at 9.00pm.

Received result for French (62%). Had different Physics teacher called Mr Wardle who is taking us till Easter. Went home & had hair cut (Johnathan Peters). Bed at 10.00pm.

Got up at 9.40am. Watched 'Swap Shop' with Angela Rippon and a flutist. Keith Chegwin (Cheggers) was in Belfast this week. Also watched 'Starsky & Hutch' about a boxer who was in trouble. Bed 10.25pm.

Got up at 10.20am. Had a bath at 12.15pm. Watched 'Indoor League' and football. At 7.15pm I watched 'The Muppet Show' with guest star Judy Collins. Bed at 9.30pm.

Played netball at school today but I'm not picked for Wednesday's practice but I still play on Mondays. Watched 'International Cabaret.' Bed at 9.00pm.

Snowed today but melted in the afternoon. Cheryl was absent. Couldn't go swimming because I forgot knickers! Went to bed at 9.30pm.
Got up at 1245. Watched film called 'Swannee River.' Went to bed early because I was ill. Went properly to bed at 0905pm.

Got up at 0930. At 10am watched 'Hawaiian' film with Elvis Presley. Danny watching Grandstand at 12.30pm. Bed at 9.30pm.

Got up at 10.00am. Went to the optician at 2.15pm. Went to bed at 9.50pm. (In the morning watched Elvis Presley film called 'Girls'...etc).

Got up at 11.30am. Watched Elvis Presley film called 'Roustabout.' Went for my frame (glasses) at 3.00pm. Went to bed at 10.00pm.

Got up at 10.40am. No Elvis Presley film but there was one on ITV called 'Billy.' Went to bed at 9.25pm.

Got up at 11.30am. Missed film 'cos I got up so late. Watched Friday Night film called 'Father Goose.' Went to bed at 9.45pm.

Got up at 8.30am. 'Swap Shop' was on with Val Doonican and man that makes models (space). 'Starsky & Hutch' (2nd part). Bed at 10pm.
