Diary Entries February 1981

1st February 1981

Depressing day. Weather OK though. Had bath, washed hair & listened to record player & radio before watching telly. Hope tomorrow isn't cold.

2nd February 1981

Went to School. Glad Wendy back cos Shaz away. Saw DL couple of times & managed to smile as he walked past. Wish he would too. No HMWK.

3rd February 1981

Don't think Dave here today cos didn't see him & neither did anyone else. Windy day. Shaz absent (2nd time). Dad fixed me bike. John Lennon's song "Woman" No.1.

4th February 1981

Saw DL loads of times & heard that he's passed his O.D's! He's cute! Not exciting lessons & telly load of crap too! Read book in bed.

5th February 1981

Great innit? Dave not here AGAIN! Boring without him to look at! Maths HMWK. Did SH. TOTP improved at last cos Rainbow, Dire Straits on.

6th February 1981

Chuffed cos DL here & Riley away - so he got no hassle! Cold (windy). Maths teacher awat (Jed) but still got SH & Eng HMWK. Good day.

7th February 1981

Went shopping with Ma - town with Chez. Bought ear-rings (2 pairs) & pen refill. Chez got ace shoes at only £3. Telly good.

8th February 1981

Not exciting day. Didn't go to Cheryl's but washed hair - listened to records & radio. J Lennon int ace. Top 40 on too. Had rec on in bed.

9th February 1981

DL no here AGAIN! Neither was Chuck. Higgy here to look at though. Wend in funny mood. Shaz back. Watched telly - not brilliant.

10th February 1981

WENDY BROUGHT ME HOME FIRST THING THIS MORNING - FELL ON ICE - MADE ME DIZZY. PALE - DOCTOR/BLOOD TEST HOSP (LACK OF IRON IN BLOOD). HOSPITAL TOMORROW TOO.

11th February 1981

Had another blood test at hosp & have to do faeces tests. Can't go to school. Great. No fillings at the Dentist. Yippee!

12th February 1981

Missing DL already & the holiday's next week! Typed & listened to record player & read book about our bodies! TOTP had niggers on. Tut tut.

13th February 1981

BREAK UP FOR HOLIDAY. Hope Wend brings REPORT. Didn't! Perhaps they ain't got them yet. Ask Shaz tom. Lonely but glad of rest.

14th February 1981

St Valentine's Day. Up late. Saw about hr of Tiswas. Telly boring after that. Should've got some air really. Telly good after tea incl DALLAS.

15th February 1981

Not the best of days! Had bath as usual & listened to our wonderful radio all afternoon. J Lennon interview ended today. R Player in bed.

16th February 1981

Up at 10 (early for me)! Listened to radio, read book (finished one). Also visited Sharon's/Cheryl's house. WP braggin about Val cards. Couldn't give a toss!

17th February 1981

Stayed in all day. Listened to radio including ace DLT show. Grange Hill good and new series Scot teenager on & 2 other series Joe Dolce No.1 Dire Straits moved up 4.

18th February 1981

HOSPITAL. Put me on pills to build up my iron. Nowt else wrong with blood. Listened to radio, read & played with Space Invaders. Telly better than usual.

19th February 1981

Similar day to yesterday except I went out for a few minutes to shop. Got well ahead with 'Rats' book - may even finish it soon. TOTP quite good - Rainbow ace.

20th February 1981

Ma went to work & went off boozing with Enid. I listened to radio & played with game & read book as usual. Cold day. Telly prog not brilliant.

21st February 1981

Watched telly all day apart from when I went to shop. Eng beat Scots - Rugby. Ace game. Snowed after tea. Prog good inc DALLAS.

22nd February 1981

Usual Sunday drama. Had bath (not very hot) & listened to radio all day & read some of book. At 7.15 film Khartoum & That's Life.

23rd February 1981

SCHOOL. Saw DL who keeps staring at Wendy. She says he's bugging her though! Me too! W Palso brought Charlie perfume too. Not much HMWK. Telly.

24th February 1981

Dinner-time awful cos Chuck & his mate sprayed soap/water all over Wend but Chuck stopped soon cos she annoyed! DL didn't join in at dinner. Kill him tom if he does anything like that!

25th February 1981

Chuck's mate kneed Wendy in stomach but Noddy/Riley kneed him somewhere painful! Saw DL who didn't take part in it - good lad! No HMWK. Telly.

26th February 1981

Had laugh today. Not like yest. SH/DL joined our Biol set & sat behind me & Wendy. Didn't speak. Earlier DL said 'Bye!' to ME & smiled! Going to have to watch him!

27th February 1981

Good day. Saw DL about 3 times. CUTE! Chez sulking - don't know why. I sed 'Don't smile - we might have a nuclear war.' She didn't. HMWK & Telly.

28th February 1981

Nowt exciting happened. Typed letter for Sylvia & John. Practised SH too. Went to shop. In Dallas Sue Ellen found Dusty in wheelchair & can't see each other 'cos no children.
