Diary Entries October - December 1980

1st October 1980

Alison Hogarth's Birthday. Saw Tony 5 times. Not very warm day - heaters on too which made school hot! Paid up for Malham trip - bit behind on buying Alan Minter book now!

2nd October 1980

Sent home this morning cos of migraine. Went to bed & stayed there all day. Prob won't be able to go tom & felt awful - couldn't concentrate.

3rd October 1980

Didn't go to school. Stayed in bed all day. Not boring cos had good sleep to clear head. Hope to walk about tomorrow. Watched portable in bed.

4th October 1980

Watched Swap Shop in my room - at dinner-time came down to see 'Rock Around Clock' film. Migraine wore off as day progressed. Prog good.

5th October 1980

Managed to have bath & wash hair after dinner. Listened to radio with Mum & also watched Elvis film which was good. Been telly freak today!

6th October 1980

Came back home after about 5mins at school (saw TH though). Listened to radio with Mum & after tea Doc prescribed special tablets for me. Can't go on trip tomorrow. Going Wed.

7th October 1980

No trip. Stayed off today. Looked awful day 4 going on Malham trip anyway. Listened to radio while Mum went to work. Nowt much on box - only boring film.

8th October 1980

Back to school. Good day for lessons. Saw Tony 3 times with little scarf on - CUTE! Weather awful & it rained when coming home! Bit copying up to do then watched telly.

9th October 1980

Not as cold as yest. Saw Higgy 4 times & he was next to me when I was trying to zip coat up nr bus layby & he cut across dead close! Bit HMWK. TOTP crap & didn't show Sting dancing!

10th October 1980

Think Higgy was away cos didn't see him. Quite good day for lessons. Maths & SH HMWK. Watched Police on BBC2 - it was ace. Nowt on after that. 2nd in Knockout Final.

11th October 1980

Kept turning over to watch both S Shop & Tiswas! After dinner peeled spuds etc (took ages). Did HMWK & watched telly incl Paul Daniels & 'Hammer House of Horror.'

12th October 1980

Sunny day but cold. After dinner washed hair & read book. After tea listened to Top 40 & watched 'To the Manor Born' & 'Shoestring.'

13th October 1980

Saw Tony twice. Ooh! He's lovely! Maths HMWK. Watched 'Give Us A Clue' 'Coronation St' & 'Panarama' about kidney donors that weren't really dead!

14th October 1980

Saw Tony 4 times inc when he came in P21 for PE kit - CUTE! Quite good day. Still don't know when Wendy coming back. Watched good film. Bed.

15th October 1980

Saw Higgy 3 times - could've been more but kept missing him! Good lessons & only Geog HMWK. Coronation St was ace! Also watched Flickers upstairs.

16th October 1980

Saw Tony 4 times. Had yellow scarf on! Shaz asked out by Holt who she fancies. Great innit! No HMWK. Watched TOTP (load o' rubbish) but it showed Sting wi' no shirt on!

17th October 1980

Think Tony away cos didn't see him. Not exciting day. 'P' came on during day & decided not to go to Autumn Fair. Did Eng HMWK & watched telly. Bed early - nowt on.

18th October 1980

Watched Swap Shop with SKIDS on..COR!! Also saw bit of Tiswas. After dinner felt grotty so had bath. Progr good after tea. Didn't go out cos too cold.

19th October 1980

Quite boring day. Should've had bath today but didn't. After tea I listend to radio with Mumsie. Also watched telly upstairs inc Shoestring.

20th October 1980

Didn't see Higgy today - saw Shaun though (another 1 I like who used to live down street). Maths & SH HMWK. Had hair cut at Gena's & watched telly till 8 - then bed.

21st October 1980

'P' finished later today. Saw Tony 5 & Shaun 4 times. Wendy says LANCASTER likes me cos he told her - SHOWN! Maths HMWK again! Barbra Streisand No.1 'Forgive Our Foolish Ways' good.

22nd October 1980

Saw Shaun 3 times, David Lancaster & Tony 4 times. Great sightseeing! Geog HMWK. Watched telly which was boring. Corrie St not up to usual standard.

23rd October 1980

Saw Lancaster & Shaun twice & Tony once. Gonna try & get David's timetable - well, Wendy is! No HMWK but did SH & few notes on Biol & Geog for Exams. Don't want holiday!

24th October 1980

HALF-TERM HOLIDAY. Saw DL 4 times, Tony 4 times & Shaun 4 times! Didn't want to come home cos I was enjoying my sight-seeing! Watched telly then bed.

25th October 1980

Watched Swap Shop. UB40 singing & bit of Tiswas. Also saw bit of Grandstand & then I peeled spuds. Quite good stuff on box & film SOS Titanic was ACE (not as good as orig).

26th October 1980

After dinner had bath, washed hair. Did nowt but after tea listened to Top 40 & decided to get Madness, Police & XTC tom. Watched telly inc Shoestring.

27th October 1980

Danny went into Preston Hospital for ear operation so I went shopping & bought XTC, POLICE & MADNESS singles. Awful, rainy day & Preston flooded. Listened to radio & watched box.

28th October 1980

Up later & did shopping, peeled spuds etc, for tea, then listened to radio all afternoon. Mum says Danny's got big bandage round his head after operation - CUTE! Watched box.

29th October 1980

Not very exciting day. Was going to buy refill for 'Replay' but changed my mind. Listened to radio most of day & watched telly which wasn't brilliant.

30th October 1980

Went to shops a few times. Shaz decided to go to Town - Saturday! Oh! Well at least she's going. Listened to radio & watched TOTP - crap as usual. Also Benny Hill.

31st October 1980

Didn't have to go shopping or peel spuds! Listened to radio all day. Hope Shaz'll remember to call to go to Town tom. Looking forward to school - see Lancaster (David)!

1st November 1980

Up about 20 past 10. After dinner bought new refill for Replay pen that I am writing with now. All Blacks beat Wales 23-3. Watt won. Minter book £6.95!

2nd November 1980

Usual Sunday boredom! Had bath after dinner. Looking forward to tomorrow (sightseeing)! Listened to Top 40 & watched telly inc Shoestring - ACE as always.

3rd November 1980

BACK TO SCHOOL. Hooray! Saw Shaun 3 times, Tony (gay) 3 & Lancaster twice. Maths HMWK. Ace day - glad to be at school! Nowt much on telly so bed early to dream!

4th November 1980

Saw Tony once, Shaun 3 times but Lancy was away cos Wendy asked Chuck. Shame! Good day, though. Forgot Maths book for HMWK. Did Biol & watched telly. Steisand No.1.

5th November 1980

Saw Tony twice, Shaun 3 times, Lancy 4 times & each time I was shown! Chuck accused of being gay by Riley! Oh dear! Geog HMWK. Telly was watchable (just about)!

6th November 1980

Saw Tony 4 times, Shaun 3 & Lancy once - missed him at dinner-time. Not exciting day. Eng HMWK & listened to radio but didn't play Dire Straits. TOTP not bad!

7th November 1980

Saw Tony & Shaun 3 times & David twice. Wendy's going to tell DL that I'm mad on him! - which I am! D'you know Wendy's been out with him & says he's nice - that's something anyway!

8th November 1980

Watched Tiswas & peeled spuds. Didn't do Maths but did SH. Watched rugby. Watched lot of telly after tea inc Two Ronnies which was ace. Bed early.

9th November 1980

Another borin' Sun. Washed hair. Stars look promising - said that if I choose the waiting game things could work out - hope so! Listened to radio & watched telly inc Dallas & Shoestring.

10th November 1980

Saw Tony twice, Shaun twice & Lancy 4 times (best yet)! He behind me & Jaz going down steps at side of t.courts (shown)! Eng HMWK. Watched telly inc Coronation St.

11th November 1980

Saw Tony 3 times (&Shaun) & Lancy 4 (good eh)! He spoke to Wendy while I was there (went out 2nd time)! ACE day. Maths HMWK. Blondie No.1 'Tide is High.' Watched telly & bed.

12th November 1980

'P' (7 days early). Saw Tony twice, Shaun 3 times same as Lancaster who's got a brother Paul who calls him Chester! No HMWK so did some SH & revised Biol. Watched telly.

13th November 1980

Saw Tony 4 times, Shaun 3 & David 6 - best yet! Eng HMWK. Lancy & Chuck kept mithering Wendy about address!! Got it too! It's 4 Croasdale Walk. Watched TOTP, crap!

14th November 1980

Saw Tony 4 times, Shaun none & DL 3 times! Rainy day. Only got SH HMWK which I've done. Watched telly which woz quite good but bed early cos of back!

15th November 1980

Tiswas disrupted so they put Tarzan & Logan's Run on! Peeled spuds, etc & a bit N-N-N-N-tired, I can tell you! Good stuff on box inc Dallas which was ACE!

16th November 1980

'P' wore off. Had bath as usual & washed hair. Listened to radio which was good inc Top 40. Hope R Stewart gets to No.1. Also saw film & Shoestring (ACE).

17th November 1980

Saw Tony & Shaun about 4 times each. Lancaster not 'ere - had good day though. Lads from other school asked me what yr I'm in. Didn't tell em (will do). Watched telly. Bed early.

18th November 1980

Saw Tony & Shaun about 3 times each. DL not ere again - swine! Chart good - probably get Maddness's new 'un weekend. Did SH & watched telly - clap apart from K Monteith.

19th November 1980

Saw Tony about 4 & Shaun about 3 times. No DL though. Geog HMWK & did SH. Watched telly inc Coronation St & Strangeways. ACE!

20th November 1980

Don't like TH anymore cos I saw him kissing a girl! Saw Shaun 3 times & DL might cum tomorrow. Watched TOTP - good but didn't have Madness on.

21st November 1980

Saw Tony but didn't go COR! as I usually do. Saw Shaun 5 times (COR)! - wish Wendy didn't like him though. Touched his coat cos put it on bench cos it fell off.

22nd November 1980

Up late & went to Town with Sharon in afternoon. Bought ace pair of ear-rings & might get long pair next week. Quite warm day - at least it never rained. Kristin shot JR in Dallas!

23rd November 1980

Deborah's Birthday. Usual Sunday boredom. Washed hair & listened to radio which was good all afternoon. Watched Royal Variety Performance.

24th November 1980

Saw Shaun twice, TH once & DL 3 times (glad he's here)! Lad at bus shelter gave me stare again! Maths/Eng HMWK. Watched telly inc Coronation St & others.

25th November 1980

Saw Shaun & TH couple o'times & saw David Lancaster 4 times (I woz shown as usual)! Also saw lad at bus shelter (I'm boy mad)! Should only like 1 not 4! HMWK.

26th November 1980

Didn't see David (he went with Wendy & Chuck to Cadet do). Saw Shaun few times & brushed against him - total bliss! Also saw TH & watched telly. Only good prog Strangeways.

27th November 1980

Saw Shaun 3 times, DL twice & was shown cos Chez said he smiled! Did work for Wendy & watched telly inc TOTP.

28th November 1980

Saw Shaun & Tony (who's finished with girl so like him again)! Saw DL record 7 times. Think I'll have to stop getting over-excited each time I see him of he'll be getting suspicious - too early.

29th November 1980

Up 10am. Listened to radio & ironed & peeled spuds. Didn't do much after that - SH HMWK & washed hair. Watched telly inc 2 Ronnies & Dallas - crap!

30th November 1980

After dinner went bike-riding with Chez & found DL's house on Croasdale Walk & found Chuck's house on Easington Crescent. Cold day & listened to radio afternoon & night.

1st December 1980

TH not here. Saw Shaun & saw David 3 times & was shown as usual. Went to Wendy's with Shaz & Chez but DL & Chuck never came (when were there). Watched telly.

2nd December 1980

Saw Shaun 3 times (same as DL - cute)! Also saw TH couple of times. Went to bed to watch 'Old Grey Whistle Test' with Dire Straits. Also saw Strongman & heard radio.

3rd December 1980

Saw Shaun about 6 times & TH couple & DL 4. Riley might tell David & Chuck (hope he won't - yet)! DL's been asking about my initials! Watched telly.

4th December 1980

Saw Tony & DL each 3 times (no Shaun). David gave me awful stare & him & Chuck came to join our class in Biol lesson to see video (shown)! No HMWK so watched TOTP (not brilliant)!

5th December 1980

Saw TH & Shaun & lost count for Dave cos he & Chuck kept going up & down Lancaster (staring at me & Chez). What's going on?! SH & Maths HMWK. Watched telly. Lancaster is brill.

6th December 1980

Saw Tiswas with Beat & Police on. Went to Town with Shaz & saw Higgy! Bought Axe Attack LP. Not enough for baggies with stripe down. Watched telly inc Dallas.

7th December 1980

Not much to report. Listened to radio a lot & had bath. Tomorrow should be interesting it not exciting - Top 40 was good like Shoestring (cute)!

8th December 1980

Saw Tony & Shaun & Dave Lancaster 4 times. Went up Peele & DL came out of doorway right in front of me - embarrassing! Wendy gonna ask about me & Chez. Watched telly a lot.

9th December 1980

Saw TH & Shaun twice & DL 4 times inc when I 'fainted' & he said 'I know she's fallen 4 me but that's ridiculous!' (in corridor after horrid video). He stared at hometime too. JOHN LENNON SHOT. Listened to radio.

10th December 1980

Saw Shaun & DH. Saw Dave 5 times & passed him along corridor between Lanc & Stanley. Him & Chuck had perfume on (laugh that lads & girls had in bus shelter last night with Brut & perfume)!

11th December 1980

OPTICIANS - lie in! After Opticians went to Town & got typewriter & Dire Straits LP. Saw Dave Lancaster 4 times - shown again. No HMWK - did bit SH & Geog though. Watched TOTP.

12th December 1980

Saw DL 4 times & he got Xmas card off Wendy with verse in about me! It says him being a pain. He said 'I will be a pain in a minute!' Naughty.

13th December 1980

Not exciting day. For a start had cold so couldn't go to Town. Didn't do much - neither did B'pool cos they lost 2-1 to Doncaster in Cup. No Dallas but watched R Redford film.

14th December 1980

Listened to radio all day & looked over Geog & Biol books & did SH. Top 40 good (choir bugs me). Watched film with monsters & Shoestring (ACE).

15th December 1980

Saw Dave Lancaster 4 times & enjoyed it! Also saw ace...can't read rest!

16th December 1980

Written in felt tip pen like yesterday therefore cannot read it!

17th December 1980

Tricia Smith's Birthday. Lost count on seeing DL cos we kept (me & Chez) looking for him & Chuck! Good day. Gonna revise sometime. Specs bust.

18th December 1980

Saw Tony, DL & Shaun. Dave is bugging me & he called me a wench - gonna get my own back on him 4 a start! No HMWK - good day cos we did nowt. Saw TOTP.

19th December 1980

BREAK UP FOR HOLIDAY. Interested in David only today. Wasn't mad with him cos Wench don't mean much! ACE day & Samson's stereo was ace! Had Adam Ant on!

20th December 1980

Went to Town & bought book - no baggies. Good day but narked about bags. Watched telly inc Cannon & Ball, Little & Large film.

21st December 1980

Not exciting day. Got up late & read bit of book & watched Animal Olympians (seen at school - ace), Elton John & late night Shoestring.

22nd December 1980

Up late (wish had clock back). Went to shops & brought lots of stuff home. Listened to radio & read my 'Blizzard' book & Geog book too. Watched clap telly.

23rd December 1980

Up earlier & shopped for Mum. Listened to radio 4 rest of day & read. John Lennon got 3 records in Top 10 inc Imagine & Merry Xmas War Is Over. ACE. Stupd Grandma No.1!

24th December 1980

Christmas Eve. Lots of Xmas songs on radio - good too inc J Lennon Xmas War Is Over (ACE). Went 4 ox liver in afternoon. Telly worse than last year.

25th December 1980

Christmas Day. ACE day. Messed around with typewriter & record player - played Dire Straits ACE. Got lovely skirt off Enid. Watched brill film.

26th December 1980

Boxing Day. Listened to records (Dire Straits, AC/DC etc) & typed out revision at same time! Did that all day until ACE Towering Inferno film.

27th December 1980

Me & Chez took dog 4 walk to Lancys & Chuck's that is! Went to Town in morning - bought 2 books. Went to L & C but never saw them. Played record player & watched telly.

28th December 1980

Played record player in morning. Washed hair & listened to records again before putting B15 on (radio) & Top 40. Only watched bit of telly & read books.

29th December 1980

Up quite late. Listened to radio & read most of day & also listened to records as well. Watched telly & Some Mothers Do Ave Em woz on - it woz ACE!

30th December 1980

On my own for most of day cos Ma & Da went to Town. Played records & listened to a bit of radio. Watched ACE film When the North Wind Blows.

31st December 1980

New Year's Eve. Windy day so instead of walking to Grange Park with Chez & stayed at her house all afternoon. Watched telly.
