Diary Entries Feb 1980

1st February 1980

Wendy's Birthday. Saw Tony once. Wendy showed all her presents but not one from me! No HMWK & there wasn't much on telly either. Bed early to read book.

2nd February 1980

Went to Town with Julie & Shaz. Bought cute radio at £4.95 (with own money). Saw Tony as well! I was shown! He didn't see me though. Watched lot of telly!!!

3rd February 1980

Up quite late. After dinner me, Dan & 'warm 'ed (Joe) rode to Fleetwood in VEHICLE! Better than staying at home. Watched telly & finished 'Damien' book. Also washed hair later. Bed early.

4th February 1980

Only saw Tony once although there is a lad - don't know what it is I like about him - but there's something (don't like him as much as TH)! Early night - no good programmes.

5th February 1980

Didn't see Tony or Brian but did see Nigel & Lee. Shaz absent AGAIN! 5 days now since 'curse' should've come. Hope I don't start when Disco comes. HMWK & read.

6th February 1980

Accession Queen Elizabeth II. Boring day - probably cos I didn't see Tony. Shaz back at school. Took ages doing History & watched television.

7th February 1980

Saw Tony twice (he's had a really close hair-cut MOD style)! Walked home with Chez & he behind us with mates! Specials still No.1 2nd week.

8th February 1980

Saw Tony twice. Kicked Schofield in the shin 'cos he kept pointing at him - no-one's gonna do that in front of me!!! Boring day & really glad to get home & read.

9th February 1980

Watched 'Tiswas' which has gone worse! Didn't go out. Want to have my hair either permed or original perm cut out. My hair is getting in eyes! Saw lots of ace progs.

10th February 1980

Beautiful day although I didn't go out again cos I had a long bath & watched WBA beat Spurs 2-1 on telly. There was also a film 'Airport' on which I've seen but well worth watching again!

11th February 1980

Saw Tony twice. Dreading having my photo taken at school tomorrow cos my hair's a right mess! No HMWK so watched box & actually laughed at 'The Goodies.'

12th February 1980

Did nto see Tony. Not fair, netball teacher wouldn't let us go on cross-country & had to put up with Barbara Houghton (silly cow or should I say "bull?")?! Only Maths HMWK so could watch telly a bit.

13th February 1980

DISCO. Saw Tony once but not at the Disco. Great day and the School Disco was brilliant. The clothes did not matter & I had an ACE dance with Julie and Shaz. Ann away.

14th February 1980

St Valentine's Day. Same old story 'Got no Valentine!' Not bothered really. I haven't told Shaz that Lee said to Lynn her had burned a card with scent on it. (Oh dear)!

15th February 1980

Break up. STARTED 'CURSE' AFTER 15 DAYS! Last day anyway. In 4th Year going into Band 7 but cannot decide other 4 subjects to take (Ann in Band 8).

16th February 1980

Watched television most of day & did not go out (don't know why cos it was quite a nice day). Instead I just watched box (maybe cos of curse I stayed in). Dallas on.

17th February 1980

Didn't do much in morning. Had swill & watched football, then Shaz came & we played footy & went into El's house to play games. Lovely, sunny day.

18th February 1980

Bit boring in morning cos I couldn't find anything to do. After dinner listened to Gary Numan tape at Sharon's house. Think curse finished later on in day. Bit colder & went to Library.

19th February 1980

Thought curse finished this morning but it hadn't. Think it did early evening. Fuzz came down street & not allowed to play any games. Watched telly after tea.

20th February 1980

"Definitely" finished period today. Didn't set foot out of the house but I helped Mum with her ironing & cleaned my bedroom - got 30p for it! Also watched telly.

21st February 1980

Didn't do anything in morning. Watched telly & made breadcrumbs for Mum's pastry. Probably go out for breath of fresh air tomorrow. Watched telly at night.

22nd February 1980

Do you know what I did today? Drew on blank pieces of paper! Didn't do anything else. Also listened to radio & watched telly at night. Kenny Rogers No.1.

23rd February 1980

Watched a bit of Swap Shop & Tiswas. After swill watched telly, got bored & went out but then came in for tea & more 'eyes glued to box.' ACE night for telly!

24th February 1980

Didn't go out all day. Joe's Vehicle been out of action all week - may come tomorrow though. Had hair washed bit later & watched Winter Olympics & Space film 'Marooned.'

25th February 1980

BACK TO SCHOOL. 9.30am. Quite a good day really. Don't have to do Needlework - it's Cookery. Not fair we get HMWK now. Watched 'Kenny Everett Video Show.'

26th February 1980

Saw Tony once. Managed to have a little run instead of netball! Quite a good day really. Not fair, Maths HMWK again! Watched telly a lot at home. ACE!

27th February 1980

Saw Tony once in PO1 (shame I wasn't in there)! Cracked neck again - horrible! Boomtown Rats, Gaz Numan, The Police (twice), Kate Bush, Cliff Richard & Paul McCartney on Brit Rock & Pop Awards.

28th February 1980

OFF SCHOOL TODAY. Doctors tomorrow 5 to 9. Boring day really & compared Hoseasons prices (very dear)! Watched telly. Blondie No.1 with Atomic. ACE!

29th February 1980

LEAP YEAR. OFF AGAIN cos had to see Doc. Got Panadol pills. Similar day to yesterday - neck got better as day progressed. May go to Town tomorrow.
