Diary Entries March 1979

1st March 1979

St David's Day. Bike mended so I went to shop. Cold. Ironed for Mum. Rained at night. Bee Gees No.1 with 'Tragedy.' ACE! Elvis Costello No.3 with Oliver's Army.

2nd March 1979

Up early. Milder day but still dull. Made Chocolate Cake. Nothing to do so I had bath & dried hair. Sure I saw one of Tony's mates earlier today. SHOWN! Layton - outside Kendon's.

3rd March 1979

Saw Todd Carty & girl who plays Trisha Yates on Grange Hill. Went up Town to get Ann's Horror Book which is first in series. Hope to get her another Horror Book next week.

4th March 1979

Quadragesima Sunday. Looking forward to see Tony. Lovely day considering it was last day of hols. Played Releasio & football all day. Had a great time.

5th March 1979

Back to School. Saw Tony 4 times. Sharon likes Tony's cute mate. Will try & find out his name. Watched few comedy programmes & 'Fawlty Towers.' Fun!

6th March 1979

Saw Tony & mate 3 times. Sharon didn't, bet she wished she did! Horrible day & rained a lot, not cold. Load of crap on television so went to bed at 8.30pm.

7th March 1979

Saw Tony 4 times. He had Blackpool hat on. CUTE! Weather cleared in afternoon. Progammes weren't bad on telly including 'Lucky Numbers.'

8th March 1979

Saw Tony 5 times with his Blackpool hat on! Rained all day. Did exercises in Gym instead of Games. There was a film on with Oliver Reed about escaping with elephants, it was cool.

9th March 1979

Tony was absent, saw his mate though COR! Sharon & Julie going into 4th Year September. NO THEY'RE NOT! Not much on telly. 'Top of the Pops' on instead of last night LONG STORY!

10th March 1979

Had to to go Town. Went with Sharon. Didn't buy owt. Played footy & Releasio. Watched 'The Dukes of Hazzard' instead of 'Starsky & Hutch' (ACE) 2nd one. Good this week.

11th March 1979

STARTED PERIOD. Had hair plaitted & Miriam cut fringe; much better now. Lovely day but cold. Hope to see T.H. tomorrow 'cos he was away Friday.

12th March 1979

Commonwealth Day. Saw Tony 3 times. Period was a nuisance. Wendy helped. Didn't play out 'cos there were good things on telly. Kenny Everett & Fawlty Towers.

13th March 1979

Saw Tony 6 times. & I wasn't even in Assembly! Rained a bit at night so couldn't play out. Watched 'Dallas' & J.R. Ewing failed yet again!

14th March 1979

Saw Tony 6 times. Lovely day. I think T.H. likes girl but I'm not really bothered. I LUV T.H.

15th March 1979

Saw Tony 4 times, cute one was laughing in Hymn Practice 'cos Mr Askew went behind his row! Gloria Gaynor No.1 with 'I Will Survive.' Good!

16th March 1979

Saw Tony twice. 2nd time was when me, Ann, Wendy went to Stanley at dinner & he & his mates dodged in front of us, coming other way. Girl in his class seems to be following us. Sharon isn't going into 4th Year.

17th March 1979

St Patrick's Day. Just about finished period - I think! Didn't go to Town but got skirt material for school. Watched film & 'Dukes of Hazzard' with Boss Luke.

18th March 1979

Summer Begins. Up late 'cos clocks put forward. Didn't play out - too cold. Watched Nottingham Forest v Southampton (League Cup). Forest won 3-2. Washed hair in bath.

19th March 1979

Saw Tony 3 times. & he was near us in Assembly - SHOWN! Watched 'Kenny Everett' 'Sharp Intake of Breath' & repeat showing 'Fawlty Towers' 'cos strike last week.

20th March 1979

Dad's 42nd Birthday. Saw Tony 4 times (COR)! Cute one walked past Shaz & she didn't know! Richard Beckinsale (Godba) died 2 nights ago, heart attack - they think. Died in sleep.

21st March 1979

Ann's Birthday. Gave presents. Saw Tony 4 times & he was in dinner before us! Snowed & in P.03 there was cute boy. Deb says he picks his nose but she's lying!

22nd March 1979

Saw Tony 5 times & he was in front of Shaz at 3.15pm going to bus & she didn't know! Good songs on 'Top of the Pops' with Kate Bush 'Unbelievable' & Gloria Gaynor still No.1 with 'I will Survive' GOOD.

23rd March 1979

Saw Tony 3 times. Got presents & N. Yates (cute boy) got swimming trophy - want to know his full name. Played out - football, and washed hair for Town.

24th March 1979

My 13th Birthday. Another nail in coffin! Had ears pierced in Lewis's. Got £3 & other presents. Better year than last. Ruth didn't get card. Watched 'Dukes of Hazzard.'

25th March 1979

Mother's Day. Rained most of day. Hope to show Ann studs tomorrow. Watched Episode 2 'My Son, My Son.'

26th March 1979

Saw Tony twice - FIT! Yates - first name is Nigel - CUTE! Watched 'Keny Everett Video Show,' 'A Sharp Intake of Breath' 'Lemie & Jerry' & last one of 'Fawlty Towers.' FUNNY!

27th March 1979

Saw Tony twice - haven't had much luck so far. Rainy day but warm. Julie came 'cos she's gone to see 'Midsummer Night's Dream' with Sharon. Watched 'Dallas' (when will it end)?

28th March 1979

Saw Tony 4 times, Nigel 6. Not cold day. 'Morecambe & Wise Show' were on ITV & BBC1 - both repeats!! Also saw 'Wonderful World of Disney' Part 1. Tony may be flirting!

29th March 1979

Saw tony 4 times. There was protest by schoolkids on Scabies which a couple of people caught. Caused by infected dirt - scabs. T.H. 7 N.Yates there, I didn't, will tomorrow. Watched 'Top of the Pops', same No.1. GOOD.

30th March 1979

Saw Tony 3 times. In morning saw Nigel outside standing on one leg looking at his mate - CUTE! Lovely day & played football, warm. Hope to get up early in morning (might go to Town again).

31st March 1979

Up late. Went to Town for Shaz's pressy. Dog came here. Don't know owner - may keep it if there isn't one. Called 'Bob' (we did)! Rubstic won Grand National 25/1. Also boring Euro Song Contest.
