Diary Entries July 1978

1st July 1978

Got up at 9.30am. Rained but I still went to Library. Watched tennis. Sue Barker only just beat Pam Shriver. Played out when it stopped raining. Watched rubbish film and Kojak which was good. Bed 10.10pm.

2nd July 1978

Got up at 10.10am. Rained again. Cousins Jill & Mark came down. Jill put face on Flump. Played out when it stopped raining. Watched film 'Birdman from Alcatraz' with Burt Lancaster (sad ending). Bed 9.20pm.

3rd July 1978

Cold day but sun came out to make it a bit warmer (at night). Just had Maths homework. Played on bikes & then played football. Not much tennis because of rain at Wimbledon. Watched Panorama. Bed 8.45pm.

4th July 1978

Dull day (rained a bit). Had Geography & English homework. Played at football. Came in to watch Wimbledon. Rained there as well. Nothing on television so I had an early night 8.45pm.

5th July 1978

Dull but it didn't rain. Had no homework because I did it in class. Played out with Sharon, Elliot & Phil, we went over to railway (me & Sharon pretended to be Joan Collins). We had a good time!!!!!!!!!! Bed 9pm.

6th July 1978

Did Cookery & made Shortbread but only got 7. Played naughty game again but without Elliot. Watched John Travolta & Olivia Newton John No.1 on Top of the Pops for 4 weeks. Also last one of Rosie & also Citizen Smith (not last one). COR! Bed 9.30pm.

7th July 1978

27th sunny day. Came 26th in Exams (same as last time). Had no homework again. Played out with Sharon. Watched the Incredible Hulk. Ken helped land a plane which had no air pressure. Bed at 10.20pm.

8th July 1978

Got up at 10pm. Quite sunny day (28th). Went to Library with Sharon & came back to play out. Came in to watch last bit of film. Also watched Kojak which was good. Bed 10.20pm.

9th July 1978

Got up at 11am. Didn't play out in the morning. Made perfume with Sharon (quite smelly). Philip, Paul & Steve came back from Air Show. Watched Golden Gala woth 100 women in it. Bed at 8.50pm.

10th July 1978

30th sunny day. Hazey but it was very warm. Had no homework again. Played on bikes (went after Phil & Steve). Went in to watch The Two Ronnies (repeat but I enjoyed it)!! Bed 9pm.

11th July 1978

31st sunny day. Very warm & watched our School Sports. Kevin Plowman came 1st in 1 race, 1st in Relay & 4th against 4th Year Boys in 1,500 metres. Watched new series of Rockford Files after I played out. Also watched last one of Charlie's Angels. Bed 9pm.

12th July 1978

32nd sunny day. Gone warmer again & I nearly took blouse off! Walked home (ran really) went a different way home & it was quicker down Garstang Road) 'cos I spent bus fares (hungry) & lost one of my ear-rings. Watched 'Wednesday at Eight.' Bed 9pm.

13th July 1978

Up later. 33rd sunny day. Cleaned up in Cookery. Played out but Ruth came & spoilt it. She went home though. Watched Top of The Pops John Travolta No.1 for 6th week. Also watched Wildlife on One (repeat) & Citizen Smith (repeat). Bed 9.25pm.

14th July 1978

34th sunny day. In September I will be going into class 2S (lower). Rehearsed plays at school (nervous)! Played out & Ruth came but we played together. Watched The Incredible Hulk. He was working in a Zoo. Also Horizon. Bed 10.15pm.

15th July 1978

Got up at 7.50pm. Went out early but it was dull all day (didn't rain). Messed about with Sharon's Perfume Set. Didn't play many games, just French Cricket (only 3 played though). Watched Kojak which was about a model murdering people. Bed 10pm.

16th July 1978

Got up at 9.45am. Didn't play out in morning because nobody else was. Sharon & Steven went out to Ruth's house so I had to play on my own. Played French Cricket. Didn't talk to Sharon. Watched Blackpool Bonanza with Paul Daniels (new series). Bed 9pm.

17th July 1978

Didn't talk to Sharon as we were walking to School (broken friends). Had Games, nearly had it at Stanley Park but nobody went off. Played out on my own. Sharon went off. Wrote Project & watched The Two Ronnies (repeat). Bed 9pm.

18th July 1978

Didn't walk with Sharon to school. Not sunny, but warm day. Had Physics homework. Played out on my own but Mum told me & Sharon to make friends. Watched Rockford Files (continued next Tuesday). Bed 9pm.

19th July 1978

Not sunny today & quite cold. Rained once. Revised Report about same as other one. Played out but came in to watch Elkie & Co about Elkie Brooks & her own band. Bed 10pm.

20th July 1978

Another dull day but it was warmer. Got new English text books for 2nd Year. Played out. Watched Top of The Pops John Travolta still No.1 for 7th week. Also Wildlife on One (repeat) & Citizen Smith (repeat). Bed 9pm.

21st July 1978

BREAK UP FOR SUMMER HOLIDAYS. Didn't do much at School, no homework either. Very sunny night & hardly any wind. Went on cemetery wall with Sharon, Steve & Phil. Watched the Incredible Hulk. He stopped 2 men from catching woman in Trawler. Bed 10.2opm.

22nd July 1978

Got up at 10am. Messed around in the morning outside. Mum got Training Shoes (same as Danny's). Ruth, Claire, me, Sharon & Steven went to Kingscote Park & came back cos it rained. Watched Kojak (on earlier). Bed 9.30pm.

23rd July 1978

Got up at 9.15am. Didn't play out in morning 'cos it rained. Sunny in afternoon. 35th sunny day. Didn't play much but at night played French Cricket. Watched film 'Night Chase.' Man ran away & took a lift in a black mans' cab 'cos he was running from Police. In the end the man gave in. Bed 9.10pm.

24th July 1978

Got up at 9.10am. Went to Grandad's while Mum went up to Town to change 'Saturday Night Fever' book but still got wrong one. Changing it on Wednesday with Grandad. Played on the cemetery wall. Stayed in to watch repeat of The Two Ronnies. Bed 9pm.

25th July 1978

Got up at 9.20am. Very boring in the morning but we went to the Railway & came back to go on cemetery wall. Rained but still warm. Watched the Rockford Files 2nd part (good). Bed 9pm.

26th July 1978

Got up at 8.10am. Rained & went to Grandad's to go downtown to get John Travolta magazine (haven't got it). Came down with Nana & Grandad. Sun came out. It was warmer. Watched film. NB: CANNOT READ THE REST. Bed 9pm.

27th July 1978

Got up at 11am. Must've been tired. After dinner played French Cricket a bit. Then Miriam let us go to see NB CANNOT READ film. Didn't play out so watched Top of the Pops. John Travolta No.1 for 8th week. Also Wildlife on One. Bed 9pm.

28th July 1978

Got up at 10.30am. Looked round Layton & also went downtown with Sharon's Mum. Me & Sharon bought some lip gloss from Chemist. Watched The Incredible Hulk (not as good as last week). Bed 9.30pm.

29th July 1978

Got up at 8.30am. 37th sunny day. Put some of Sharon's Lip Gloss on. Ruth & Claire came down & we all went to Railway with Steve & Phil. Also went on cemetery wall (where it was very hot). I got sunburned sitting up there. Watched Kojak (quite good). Bed 10.30pm.

30th July 1978

Got up at 9.30am. Didn't play out in morning because it rained. In afternoon we went on cemetery wall & Railway. Very hazey afternoon. NB: CANNOT READ THE REST. Bed 10pm.

31st July 1978

Got up at 9.30am. Sharon called for me & we went to Library. In afternoon we went to Railway (with Steve & Phil) & made den. Rained later on. Watched The Kenny Everett Video Show (DAFT)! Went to bed at 8.40pm 'cos nothing on.
