Diary Entries February 1978

1st February 1978

Rained today & it wasn't very nice. Broke friends with Linda & Tricia again. Watched film & did Biology & French homework (HARD)! Bed at 9.20pm.

2nd February 1978

Did more sewing at school but not finished it. Watched 'Top of the Pops.' Two 15 year olds are at No.1. After that watched repeat of 'The Good Life.' Bed 9.30pm.

3rd February 1978

Had homework from Physics and English (new reading book about Wizards). Watched 'Sherlock Holmes.' Also repeat of 'Porridge.' Bed at 9.30pm.

4th February 1978

Got up at 9.30am to watch 'Swap Shop' with Leslie Crowther. Went to Miriam next door to help sew skirt. Watched 'Starsky & Hutch.' Bed at 10.10am.

5th February 1978

Got up at 11.15am. watched 'Indoor League' and 'The Kick Off Match' with Blackpool v Blackburn. Blackpool won 5-2. 'The Muppet Show' and 'The Moneychangers.' Bed at 9.15pm.

6th February 1978

Did netball again. Lost 3-2. Had Geography, French & Maths for homework. Watched 'Coronation Street' and 'International Cabaret' (last one). Bed at 9.10pm.

7th February 1978

Shrove or Pancake Day. Had Geography homework. Didn't have pancake 'cos I don't like them. Watched 'Streets of San Fransisco' (had drink). Bed at 9.25pm.

8th February 1978

Did Biology & Maths homework, no History. Watched film about a maniac ex-changing murders (1951). Ended up under 'The Merry Go Round' (more). Bed at 9.25pm.

9th February 1978

Very cold today but sunny. Just done my hem of the skirt. Doing cookery next lesson (two weeks). Brotherhood of Man No.1. 'The Good Life' (funny). Bed at 9.00pm.

10th February 1978

Received report. Quite good considering I didn't do well in exams. Half-term holiday. At home watched 'Sherlock Holmes' and repeat of 'Porridge.' Bed at 10pm.

11th February 1978

Got up at 9.15am to watch 'Swap Shop.' Went to the shop for 'Edgar.' Also watched Mike Yarwood film 'Away All Boats.' At 9.05pm 'Starsky & Hutch.' Bed at 10pm.

12th February 1978

Got up at 9.45am. Watched 'Indoor League', 'Celebrity Squares' and 'New Faces.' Had ice-cream. Also watched 'Muppets' and 'The Moneychangers' (which was final part). Bed 9.30pm.

13th February 1978

First day of hols. Got up at 11.15am. Very boring and watched film with Arthur Askey. Also watched flutist James Galway - just had an accident - who was in a wheelchair ('Swap Shop'). Bed at 9pm.

14th February 1978

St Valentine's Day. Never got Valentine! Went to get eggs. Watched 'Rockford Files.' Also watched 'Rising Damp' and 'Q7' with Spike Milligan. Bed 9.25pm.

15th February 1978

Got up at 10am. Was meant to go to Library but closed. Instead got 2 balls. Played with Sharon at Kingscote Park. Watched 'Elephant Walk' with Elizabeth Taylor film. (1954). Bed 9pm.

16th February 1978

Got up at 10.30am. Was meant to go to Library but ticket was in kitchen (Phil was there)! Watched 'Top of the Pops' Abba No.1. Also 'The Good Life' all of Ali's fight. Bed 10.30pm.

17th February 1978

Got up at 10.10am. Watched Phil & Kevin & Mike do plastering. On TV watched 'Disney' (Villains). Repeat of 'The Goodies' and also repeat of 'Porridge.' Bed 9.25pm.

18th February 1978

Got up at 9am. Watched 'Swap Shop' with guest Ray Allan & Lord Charles and in 'Grandstand' there was Rugby (Wales won) 'Starsky & Hutch' was also good. Bed at 10pm.

19th February 1978

Last Day of Hols. Watched 'Survivor' 'Indoor League' and 'The Big Match.' Also 'Celebrity Squares' and 'New Faces.' Had bath after 'The Muppets' with Bob Hope and 'Dumbo' film. Bed 9.10pm.

20th February 1978

Went to school. Had Geography, French & Maths homework. Watched 'Coronation St' and new comedy series 'A Sharp Intake of Breath' (it was very funny)! Bed 9.15pm.

21st February 1978

Had Geography, English but no Physics homework. Watched 'Dave Allen' and 'Rockford Files' (a bit) because Phil fixed lights for the extension (after 'Q7'). Bed 9.25pm.

22nd February 1978

Had History and Biology homework but no Geometry. Watched film set in Berlin called 'Allan Between.' Watched repeat of 'The Liver Birds' for half hour. Bed 9pm.

23rd February 1978

Had English, French & Maths homework. Started doing Cookery (great)! Watched 'Top of the Pops' Abba No.1 with 'Take a Chance On Me.' 'The Good Life & 'George & Mildred.' Bed 9.30pm.

24th February 1978

Had Physics (done History) & English homework. Watched 'Wonderful World of Disney' about a mail dog. Also the 'Goodies' & 'Going Straight' which carried on after 'Porridge' with Ronnie Barker. Bed 10.10pm.

25th February 1978

Got up at 9.30am. Watched 'Swap Shop' with guest Penelope Keith. Rained. Also watched a film called 'Joe Panther' (1976) and Mike Yarwood was good. 'Starsky & Hutch' were rubbish. Bed 10pm.

26th February 1978

Got up at 11am. Watched 'Indoor League' with final of American Pool. Also watched football Everton v City. Also watched 'Celebrity Squares' & 'New Faces.' At 7.15pm watched 'The Muppets', 'Columbo' & new series of 'The Cuckoo Waltz.' Bed 9.30pm.

27th February 1978

Did netball at school, won 6-5. Had Geography, French & Maths homework. Watched 'Coronation St' & 'Take a Sharp Intake of Breath.' He was teaching his wife to drive (he didn't do too well)! Also 'World in Action.' Bed at 9pm.

28th February 1978

Hand English & Geography but no Physics homework. Watched 'Dave Allen in Death Valley' & 'The Rockford Files' with James Garner & 'Cute Denis!' Also watched 3rd part of 'Rachel in Danger' (ITV). Bed at 9pm.
